Jack (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is a single limo driver who lives in his uncle’s basement. Jack doesn’t talk much. He does, however, enjoy getting to know Connie (Amy Ryan) and taking swimming lessons from his pal Clyde (John Ortiz), a fellow limo driver in a rocky place with Lucy (Daphne Rubin-Vega).
